Ralph Becker

Ralph received a J.D. and an M.S. in Geography/Planning  from the University of Utah. Ralph has worked for the National Parks Service, consulting (Bear West), as an adjunct professor, as Utah State Planning Coordinator, and served on the Salt Lake City Planning Commission. He was a six-term member of the Utah State House of Representative, including House Democratic Leader. He served as Salt Lake City Mayor for two terms. Through his time in the Legislature and as Mayor, Ralph focused on sustainability, open space, transit and multi-modal transportation, and social justice. During his tenure as Mayor, Ralph served as President of the National League of Cities. In his post-mayoral work, Ralph’s efforts have included better governance and election reform, Wasatch Mountains solutions, and water.
