The Beginning of Accountability
The Better Boundaries Accountability PAC launched in 2021. It was formed as it became clear that a majority of Utah legislators were determined to ignore the will of the people and enact maps that split up our communities to benefit incumbent politicians and political parties. We know that the people of Utah deserve more responsive leadership. By creating the PAC we can recruit and support candidates who care about voter rights.
Our Successes
Promoting accountable government is not easy, but the people of Utah have enthusiastically responded to our mission. In 2024 alone, our PAC’s successes included:
- Supported pro-voter rights candidates across the political party spectrum
- Contributed $58,000 to support 14 state legislative candidates
- Contributed volunteer time to legislative campaigns
- Contributed volunteer time to encourage Utahns to vote
- Received donations from 250 individual donors
- Connected voters to their elected officials, including during September’s Special Session to put Amendment D on the ballot:
- 2,000 grassroots legislative contacts were made
- 4,000 people signed an open letter to elected leadership
- Worked with lobbyists and like-minded legislators to protect ballot initiatives
The Path Forward
Better Boundaries Accountability PAC is committed to independent redistricting and accountable government for the long haul. We will continue the fight to recruit and support candidates across all political parties who understand the importance of fair elections, who uphold the Utah Constitution, and who promote transparent government.
